For Makerbot, I redesigned the UX flow specifically around the checkout process. Research determined that there were several experience issues identified at certain points in the process. Among them, the largest concerns were forcing users to register too early in the flow and more clearly representing added cart items within the order summary.
I laid out a flow and designs which sought to fix these issues. A “checkout as guest” feature was added, with the option at the end of the flow to create a password to become a registered user in a more seamless way. The filament configurations (the material used to create 3D objects) were also streamlined.
